Mission Accomplished
We'll try to keep this brief to avoid getting played off by the orchestra, but there's an awful lot of people who need to be thanked for their role in the success of this year's Honor Our Heroes. So let's get going...
First of all, thank you to everyone who came out on the 19th and made it a huge success. We're so glad that you could make it out for this family fun day and hope to see you all next year! Also, a big thank you goes out to all of the sponsors who contributed their time, money, or prizes to make the special - we couldn't have done it without your gracious donations. Thank you to the City of South Portland as a whole, but also to the Mayor and all the folks who came together to partner with us in getting the field ready and making this dream a reality. A very special thank you to the members of the Portland Sea Dogs who took time our of their busy schedules to spend time playing catch, throwing, and giving batting tips to all the kids - and let's not forget all the pictures and autographs too! Thank you to the folks from Holy Cross, St. John The Evangelist, Eastpoint Christian Church, and The Rock Bangor for contributing their many hands to making the work substantially lighter. A big thank you goes out to Sue and Seth Davis who lived HOH for the better part of a year to pull it all together.
Most of all, thank you to the members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Reservists, Coast Guard, Police, Fire Department, and EMT's for everything you do for us on a daily basis. You're the real heroes.
